Form I-90, Application to Replace or Renew Permanent Resident Card, is used by lawful permanent residents (green card holders) to apply for a replacement or renewal of their Permanent Resident Card, commonly known as a green card. This form is typically used when the existing green card has been lost, stolen, damaged, or is about to expire. A renewal is needed every ten years. One can submit their renewal within six months before it's set to expire. In some cases, a green card may need to be replaced if it has been lost, stolen, mutilated, or if the information on it has become outdated.
